    Credit card fees

It is my understanding that the Dodd-Frank law prohibits a payment card network such as Visa “from inhibiting the ability of anyone to provide a discount for payment by cash, checks, debit cards, or credit cards”. So it is my understanding that the law prevents any processor from preventing a...

    Workers Comp Audit

The class code for restaurants is 9079 and most states include all workers in this class code. For a clerical person to be classified as 8810 (Clerical) they have to be totally separated from the restaurant and not enter the restaurant environment. If an employee enters the restaurant then they...

    Frustrating trying to sell......

It may not be your price. It could possibly be other factors. I skied there one time back in the 1970’s so I don’t know too much about the town now. A Google search shows the population to be around 12,000 so that limits the potential buyer pool. It may simply be the fact that Steamboat Springs...

    Meat Toppings Help

Another method to do sausage is to poach them. Take a turkey roaster or large pot and bring the water to 160 to 165 degrees. Plop the sausage in and bring the Internal temp up to 160 degrees. You will not fat the sausage out and it will be nice and plump. If your water is hotter than 165 you...

Seattle ZPizza closing due to minimum wage increase?

It is correct that the general public does not understand economics and do not understand business. People do not understand that the business owner must pay rent, utilities, insurance, debt service on equipment/fixtures, labor, repairs, spoilage and taxes and those costs must be included in the...

I thank all of you that have replied. Some very useful information has been shared. PizzaPirate I do like your chart and that can be very useful. Here is another question for you all. Different toppings have different costs. If one is using 4 main meat topping such as pepperoni, ham, sausage and...

    Meat portions

What meat portions are you using on a 14 inch pizza? I am looking for weight that you are using and not the number of slices. I am still in the research phase of opening a place and need to have a handle on costs of goods sold. I know some places advertise that they use X number of slices of...

    Invoice/Receipt Storage

I scan all of my receipts and keep them in folders name by company. The scans have date stamps for easy identification. I keep the hard copies grouped by week in a box in case I ever need hard copies. I also record all transactions in Quickbooks.
