Permits required here too. Unless of course we take it down every night and put it back up every morning. Which isn’t impossible I guess…

    Counterfeit Cash

Take the loss too. It’s hard to even bust someone with counterfeit cash because they just say, “oh wow I didn’t even notice! The guy blah blah blah must have handed it to me as change when I bought blah blah this morning!”

Preach on, brother. I’m tired of people who talk the talk but can’t even crawl the walk!

Moving & Cleaning Around a Hobart

Yeah, I wouldn’t suggest moving a mixer to clean underneath it every day hahaha. You would look like the hulk after the end of the year though I bet… hmm

I’ll definitely keep my eye on this thread because I’m also interested in giving text marketing a shot. Hopefully it’s a success.

Question for those that are profitable and work 30 hrs/wk or less

Wait so you are moving to a bigger location AND want to work less? What if you just stay in the small spot, keep the rent difference and the headache. Problem solved. More cash and you’ll live longer. Really though, the only way to work less in this business is to be able to afford paying...

Moving & Cleaning Around a Hobart

You can slide it around. They aren’t light and I don’t know what kind of flooring you have, but it is possible. Maybe when you know it’s clean underneath just hit it with a bead of caulking or silicone or something to where it won’t get dirty again? I don’t think casters would work at all on a...

    Text Blast Redemption rates

Woah… Take a deep breath… Relax… I wasn’t offended. I just think that it’s silly hyping things like 150% redemption rates when in reality redemption rates don’t mean very much without knowing the actual text message that generated it. I could easily break all redemption rate records and claim a...

    How to hire pizza makers?

Also, is your restaurant a pizzeria? If so, can you be the pizza maker, or are you already stuck somewhere else? I am always the pizza maker the first 6 or so months when we open. I wouldn’t have it any other way… Well, unless I bring someone from another store who is already well trained on...

    How to hire pizza makers?

Pizza maker seem to be the hardest position to fill for us. I would try every way possible. I don’t really poach, but I do offer better wages in hopes that someone notices and then applies with us. The only problem with that method is that they usually leave when someone else offers them a...

    Test batches?

What’s the minimum size batch you can make in a 60 quart mixer? I’ve made 10lb (flour weight) batches but I’d like to try smaller. I just don’t know how small you can go before you start to have trouble mixing. Of course I can use my smaller mixer, but I’m just curious.

    Tipping Jar on Front counter?????

How does the customer handle the “no tip” thing? I mean, in theory they are now forced to pay what some might consider the same thing as a tip, right? Since the service charge is required now as opposed to what wasn’t before?

    Tipping Jar on Front counter?????

The jar seems to be somewhat unnecessary. At our newest location we’ve hit 400 dollars (yes, four hundred) in takeout tips in one day, without a jar. I was completely blown away by this as I’ve never witnessed it before. Our other location has a jar and it’s lucky to see 100 in a day…

    Chargebacks

I’m going to try zip code and CVV verification when we switch pos systems next week. We’ll see how that goes… I doubt it will work, I mean, if you have a stolen card number you probably have the rest of the info…

    Chargebacks

Cops around here are the same way… It sucks. Theft just isn’t something they seem to care about at all. They just deal with it way too often to even matter I guess. We had a few cars stolen over the last two years and nobody seemed to give a shit at all. Actual CARS, not car toppers! Credit...
