    Pizza expo in Vegas

Re: Pizza expo in Vegas Where to stay? We stayed at Luxor for our honeymoon 5 years ago and it was great. We chose NY this time because it’s less of a walk to the strip and a great casino. If you want to be closer to the action, I’d say NY.

Anybody taking checks by phone like a credit card? Opinions

Re: Anybody taking checks by phone like a credit card? Opini When we opened about 6 months ago, we made the decision not to accept checks except from churches and schools. We’ve probably lost 2 sales the entire time - most people have no problem with it and we don’t have any bad check loss. If...

    dessert

I did the same thing with Cheesecake. It’s really popular and an easy upsell. I buy 10" for $15 each, cut in 16 slices and sell for $2.99.

How often do you run payroll?

I run weekly. I use our bank’s service and it’s only $15 a month. It’s an advantage to get employees by offering weekly pay.

    Chocolate Pizza - Mudhoney

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to check the board before we had to send the valentines orders out. I ended up putting a layer of melted chocoate on between the dough and topping. I did help somewhat, but I would definatley play with the recipe more. Eye appeal is half the meal!

    Phone Listing

I might be able to offer specific help here. Like Batman, I have dual personalities. By night & weekend, I’m Pizza City, by day, I’m a telecommunications consultant and have been for over 20 years. If you’d like to send me a PM with your store name, phone number, and your phone company, I’ll see...

    Need Menu Help**

Something we’ve found on sizes - our largest is XXL at 20". It’s great against the competition - their largest is over 28" and their biggest problem is that it won’t fit though the door and they tip it - causing the cheese and topping to slide.

    Week to week sales fluctuation

I see this too. The 1st of the month is highest, then the 2nd is lowest, then it builds back of to the 1st of the month. I think it has to do with 1st and 15th paydays along with 1st of the month government payments.

What are your average ticket sales what % do each represent

Re: What are your average ticket sales what % do each repre We’ve been open 5 months and after some frustration, the comments ont this site really opened my eyes. I started running reports and was really surprised at the information our POS showed. We run 70% average delivery (which varies...

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

We did the postcards through the mail (saturation at 12.7¢ each) - I found a printer that has the bulk mail permit. I designed the postcard and he did the printing, packaging and post office drop off. Total cost per card for the whole nine yards was about 17¢ each.

    Crew Shirts

    Delivery to rural subdivisions

We have a lot of problems with this too - roads change names after a couple of miles, numbers are skipped and all the mailboxes are on the same side of the road so you can’t tell which side the house is really on. We also have a real problem with road signs being stolen. At least 40% of our...

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

On our doorhangers, we’ve had 2 versions - one with just 2 coupons (buy one get one free and a lunch discount) and a menu and the second with just 6 coupons and no menu. The menu one did much better for us. On the postcard, we promoted our 3 top specials (Buy one get one free Monday, 2 medium...

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

I wanted to share some success we’re seeing with our 1st postcard saturation mailing. We opened up in September, so we’re just short of 5 months old. We’ve been averaging 14% growth per month and the average for January was trending at 19%, so we’re getting there. We sent out a saturation...

    The doorhanging quandry

On the “banning”, it’s not so much the driver, it’s the restiction of doorhanging. We have a big untapped market of military housing. We’re completely allowed to leave flyers in the barracks and to deliver food when ordered, but we cannot doorhang the residential housing area. There are several...
