    Advice on phone system

I got one of these http://www.iosonhold.com/ and it’s connected to my phone system. $150 for the hardware, and I had them do an on-hold message that is VERY professional. For like $300, they offer a package including the digital player AND two messages (one for say a holiday season). They did...

    Opinion needed?

I’d change the special - “Two big slices, only $3.99”. Then charge for a beverage. It FEELS like the same special, but you actually make money.

    Tooting my own Horn !

Nice job - it should drag in some new customers too. See if there is a “Best In Pitt.” logo the paper uses - if they allow it, get the image, and include it in all your printed advertising!

    record internet orders

Re: reoord internet orders I gotta say - having a FAX involved is an poor online process. I understand it is simpler than a POS integration, it can get you started, but it’s just kind of lame.

    record internet orders

Re: reoord internet orders That’s also a bit of a risk for “disputed” charges - you have no signed slip. And there probably is a different “discount rate” your credit processor will apply with no signature - I KNOW that the HIGHEST worst fees apply to “online ordering” - but you MIGHT qualify...

    Pepsi question

Coke has just implemented a minimum order - to avoid a delivery charge. It’s a case count that does include BIB, (but I get them cheaper from a food vendor), and anything else I get through them - like a CO2 tank, or a case of bottle water, etc… I had a philosophical debate with them when I took...

    what drives me insane!!

Love the “ray gun” robbery! Had a guy order a pizza with “everything”. We TRIPLE checked - “you want hot peppers?” yes. “you want pineapple?” yes. And since he seemed a little drunk, he heard and approved the ENTIRE list of toppings. Called back an hour later: “I don’t like the pizza.” We...

    what drives me insane!!

The post about watching for 20 minutes bugs me a little too - I don’t blame them - but it isn’t comfortable! And then, there’s the pick-up people, who ask how long, we tell them 20 minutes, and they show up an hour later. I want them to have fresh hot pizza - TELL me if you want it in an hour!

    Leprino QLC cheese

No reason not to try it…but, if I’m not mistaken, Leprino is the proud holder of the contract to provide cheese to Dominos. So if that’s the product, and not just one particular product, I’m guessing you won’t get the quality you’re looking for. Let us know, though…

    paying delivery driver

Here’s what I do… I have insurance that screens my driver selections - whether they are to drive my car or their own, we pull a MV report and get them specifically listed as OK with my insurance. At hire, they understand very clearly that they will deliver pizza when there are pizzas to be...

    question about installing a hood

Never seen a fire in a pizza oven - but I HAVE seen an ANSUL system shut down a pizzeria. Several times. I was required to install an ansul system over my oven. The Fire inspector was talking about having the spray directed right into the oven, but apparently in my city, they only require that...

    New site template

Just a couple simple comments DO ANYTHING POSSIBLE TO INCREASE SPEED. The system seems a tiny bit slower with the new template. I know that’s odd, but perhaps it’s how it loads the graphics or something. Function over form, please. If it’s lean and fast, we’ll all be happier than sitting...

TELL ME GUYS, HOW MANY STORES CAN A COMMUNITY SUPPORT

That’s a pretty well researched AVERAGE statistic. It varies by market, and OF COURSE it can’t be held true to an individual household - it’s a national average. Meaning, for the house that never buys pizza, there’s one that buys double that amount. For the house that get’s pizza once a year...

    chaos during our rush...any suggestions?

Your crew is so new that chaos is to be expected during that rush - the team will find their “groove” soon. To help them do this, you should definitely have enough people in a specific spot that you can roam the kitchen and keep an eye wide open for things that people are doing RIGHT, and doing...

    Ordering Online

I think the potential totally depends on your market. In a city, with “cubicle people,” it might be a critical tool. In a rural area, perhaps not so much. My website has landed me some great accounts - who order regularly by phone, or in one or two cases, by email (they get a quote for a...

    question about installing a hood

I needed stamped hood plans, OK’d by building AND Fire dept. Installation inspected by both too. And I needed to have a certified installer for the hood (for “fire-wrapping” the duct from the hood to the roof). I’m thinking you might be OK with a certified Ansul system - but you’re going to...

    Self Shredding cheese?

I love my shredded cheese - it allowed me to create my own blend, which is a contributor to our unique quality and flavor. You cannot compare the freshness of in-house grated cheese. The downside is consistency - some people will shred with different pressure, or the cheese will sit for a bit...
