Lock up your daughters - the British are coming (again!)

when you have a castle for a hime (like we all do in England) anything else simply won’t do! Anyhow I thought all of America was like Disney? Happy, shiny, perfect etc?

Lock up your daughters - the British are coming (again!)

Now I know American’s aren’t well known for their sense of humour but I guess the suggestions weren’t too serious! I did Taco bell about 15 years ago and it was ‘interesting’ let put it that way. Maybe we’ll eat at … (its a loyalty thing)! see I still didn’t give it away did I! 2 days to go…

Registered Guest: Employee contract/handbook basis of employment? Whatever you care to call it.

who do you hold responsible when a table dines & dashes?

Registered Guest: I don’t think you can simply ‘deduct anything’. I am pretty sure you need to make the employee aware (before hand) via their contract of what deductions you can make. They therefore sign to give you ‘permission’ as part of the the contract.

    Am I asking too much?

IMO anyone who has a problem with a previous employer/reference isn’t even going to provide details of that job. If they got fired for stealing why would they tell you they worked there if they knew you were going to take a reference? Whilst I’m in the UK I suspect the legal position about...

    Operating Analysis Books

Re: Operating Ananlysis Books Patriot'sPizza: pro-active… monthly inventory - how do those two go together. Ideally you should be doing daily inventory. This will enable you to QUICKLY: a) understand your usage b) control over usage c) identify theft (of both inventory and other methods) d)...

    coupons on menus???

one word of advice with the bundles - make sure you offer a range of options. No good offering a family sized pie and 2 or 3 sides even if it is a bargain IF you have a lot of singles or couples who simply won’t eat it all.

A sales tax question for those in the US

Apparently I have had a full refund, including sales tax, however the email confirmation doesn’t show the tax for some reason. You’d expect better from a big company like sea world! Only 50 sleeps till we arrive! Still haven’t told kids. Will be a fantastic surprise for them. Will hopefully be...

A sales tax question for those in the US

Hi. As you know I’m not in the US. I’ve just made a purchase online for something in the US (Florida) and during the process made a mistake. Having spoken with the vendor we agreed that I’d re order then they’d cancel the original order and refund it. They’ve done the refund for the item but...

bare bones just pizza no frills menu vs. chain menus

PizzaSteve: Two very brave things to do for a brand new business, going up against established businesses. To try and compete against any established business is always a tough one but to do it from outset is IMO probably a foolish train of thoughts. As Mike says your proposition seems a bit...

Is online ordering worth the investment?

I’ve done online from day 1 so I can’t prove that it’s increased my sales. In terms of canibalizing my sales - well I think that’s what you want don’t you? There are a plethora of studies that people who order on line (and spend time browsing the online menu and offers) spend more AND most...

    the Waffle Frie Pie

NicksPizza: I did notice the jewellery and no hats but I was trying not to be too picky and just provide some honest feedback! Its all up to the operator. I have two open plan kitchens, insist on clean aprons (rather defeats the object if the apron ain’t clean). The aprons do not leave the...

    the Waffle Frie Pie

So you accept people don’t come in for that reason and the only reason you don’t wear them is because you ‘hate them’. Not the most sound of arguments on getting more sales, but as I say just giving you some feedback.

    the Waffle Frie Pie

Its a choice you make as a business. I wouldn’t buy meat from a butcher who was wearing his normal/casual clothes, wouldn’t undergo a medical procedure with someone who was wearing his sports gear and in terms of my food, I like to think some thought has been given to the preparation of my food...

    the Waffle Frie Pie

Nice looking pie! Just some casual feedback - (we all love feedback). Why don’t your guys wear aprons? Its basic food hygiene? Whilst your pies look great I wouldn’t buy food from a shop where the guys making the food are not wearing aprons. Why? They’re wearing the same clothes they are...

    My Manager stole a LOT

ouch that’s gotta hurt. Your post illustrates a really good point (sorry not aiming to be critical of you but I bet you’re already kicking yourself on what you didn’t do to realise this earlier). You MUST make sure that you have systems in place to control stock and money. If it ain’t nailed...
