I would think this would generate some good PR and also help you possibly attract a better quality of school-age employees. Do you think it may cause some resentment from some of your other non-college bound workers? What size shop do you have / how many employees?

Without knowing why they left, this is a difficult question to answer. Some have suggested they are making too much money and no longer feel the need to work but I doubt that is the case. Sounds like your delivery business is pretty slow. 15 deliveries on a Friday night is not many at all...

I agree with everybody that says be welcoming to the potential customers. Why not figure out your monthly restroom costs (supplies, wages to clean, water, etc), and approach the ice cream store owner. Explain your dilema and ask him if he would be willing to share the costs?

pie guy: I totally agree, #6 on my list and I almost put it even higher. I actually saw Super Mario Brothers in the theater when it came out, I don’t recall the pizza scene. Thanks for the suggestion.

heather: Why would he be doing this? Isn’t he hurting his own delivery volume by giving you customers? Are you paying him for these slips? Do you think he’s only giving you the non-tippers, and keeping the tipping customers at is place of employment?

Username: I don’t know if this fits your schedule but maybe get a newspaper route that you could do right after you close your shop? Not knowing your skills it’s difficult to make a good suggestion.

We have 3 games, a video game, a pinball, and this thing where you try to roll a ball up a hill to get a prize. They honestly don’t get much use, but I expect that depends on the type of crowd you get.

About 20-25% for deliveries at our store. Even higher for dine-in and pick-up.
