    School Contracts

We did these for a few months last Fall. Getting your nutritional information isn’t to hard, I did exactly the way Brad described. Info on your toppings is on the manufacturers website. You’re likely going to want to do a 14" pizza, since that’s what they’re probably use to and it will help...

    Sold Sign

I agree with qfcmike. I would just talk to the realtor and ask if they’re confident the property is sold and paperwork is all that needs signed. Let them know you’re concerned about what what another potential buyer would think after seeing it sold, then back up on the market.

    Who's Open Memorial Day?

Down 50% Friday, 75% Saturday, 50% Sunday and 20% Monday vs. last years Memorial weekend. Why did I sign up for this?

    Holiday pay?

Most corporate jobs offer it, I think I even got it when I worked at Wal-Mart in college. It’s usually been time-and-a-half for hours worked, or just pay for average number of hours normally worked if our offices were closed when I worked at a HR company and a bank.

Removing Buildup On Dining Room Tables

For the longest time, I thought my dining room tables just had a lot of scuffs and discoloration on them. It doesn’t look bad, and you can’t really see it unless you’re trying too or standing back so the light hits it right. I realized this week that it’s not what I thought, it’s actually years...

V.O.I.P. anyone made the switch with 4+ rollover lines?

All my lines are cell phone and V.O.I.P. based. When we bought our shop, we had two lines that were about $80/mo. I moved my number to a cell phone that forwards to a google voice number that rings any number I want and I can schedule the hours as I please. T-Mobile dipped into VOIP, but dropped...

    Coupons/Discount Codes on Big Holler

I should have updated this. I was finally able to talk to someone who was better at putting things in layman’s terms. It looks like this is something they started to do, but oddly enough, didn’t seem to have many people interested in, so not everyone at BH is aware they have this capability.

    Tornado in KS....

The KS tornado started a couple miles from our shop in our downtown area and moved away from our town to the next town over (Reading). I was fortunate to not be at the store at the time and able to evacuate our guests out of the B&B I bought my wife last month. Kansas kids running the store, so...

    Coupons/Discount Codes on Big Holler

Is anyone using a discount code on Big Holler? I want my customers to be able to enter in a code, something like “DRINK” and be able to get a free soda when the order a large pizza. Talking to them is mind numbing and baffles me how little they seem to understand how pizza shops operate.

    ANYONE DOING A SALAD BAR

I have one, and it’s well liked. One tip I can say is to get lettuce heads, green leaf lettuce and maybe Romain and hand tear them into a bowl instead of getting that pre-made bags with red cabbage and shredded carrots in it. People really notice that we make our own mix, it’s cheaper and really...

    One of those philanthropical experiences

I get frustrated with fundraisers too. We’ve tried to do several of them and rarely do the groups/organizations try that hard to promote it and seem to expect me to do the work. As far as tracking sales, I always put a discount on the POS for them that takes .01 off the order, then I can print...

I Feel Like I'm Aging 10x Faster Since I Bought Our Store

It seems like the most ridiculous stuff happens being a pizza shop owner. I was already stressed this weekend after being really short staffed Friday and Saturday. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with 2 hours left in my shift on Saturday and a day off on Sunday. Prepping a...

Big Holler Tech Support Email - Anyone Know It?

Patriot'sPizza: PP - I love doing things on my own instead of asking other people to do it, especially when it allows me to adjust on the fly like I tend to do. But, except for Yellow Pages, they’re my least favorite group to deal with. I really wish POS had a second vendor that we could play...

    Online Ordering Prices.

Were these some of the big chains you were looking at? If so, they use the Wal-Mart philosophy where prices are based on how much of the competition they’ve destroyed by selling at a loss for a couple years upon entering the market. Last spring, I put together a flyer that compared our prices...

    Newbie looking for advise, direction,

I’ll be harsh and blunt, don’t do it. I’m one of the rare one’s that has made a little bit out of something. We bought our shop 10 days before the big bank collapse of '08. I never really was that into it, but my wife’s boss approached us after I sold my bar and wanted to pay cash for our shop...

    Looking for Investors:

Hit me up IN a PM here, I’d love to talk to you more. I’ve built a huge Empire in the midwest catering TO the deaf community by marketing keywords and google ads on the TTY/TDD network. The calls take a little longer and fronting the currier fees can be a bit overwhelming for the first few...

    This business drives me crazy.

This weekend was a perfect example of this. Easter weekend is usually our 3rd slowest weekend of the year, instead we were up close to 25% in sales over a normal weekend, and that’s with not opening for lunch on Sunday.
