    Wall Maps For Delivery

What I’m looking for is a map that has grids on it. That way if the driver is looking for “Smith Street”, they go to the alphabetical listings and next to “Smith Street” it will say “A-3”. Then the driver goes to the map and looks for the quadrant A-3 and that’s where “Smith Street” is. I really...

Managers: If you would have had this happen...(VERY LONG)

Re: Managers: If you would have had this happen…(VERY LON Piper: I agree with Piper on this one. It sounds like you got the pizzas made in time so what’s the big deal? If one of my drivers called me and said that a customer wanted to add 10 more pizzas and the order moved up, if it was...

    writing a business plan

If you decide to go with a partner, make sure your job descriptions are laid out in writing before hand. Every aspect of running the business should be assigned to either you or your partner. You have your responsibilities and your partner has his. You don’t interfere with his job and he doesn’t...

    Looking for some pricing advice...

I got the order. They ordered a lg pizza and some wings Friday to sample. I buttered them up a little bit by not charging them like the other shops did. They were insisting on paying but I wouldn’t accept it, so I’m sure that left a good taste in their mouth when it came time for them to make a...

    Looking for some pricing advice...

I ended up submitting a bid for $870. I found out that one of the other shops bid 20% off and 1 free topping per pizza, so I tried offer a similar deal. My food cost will be $388 so I’ll still make a pretty good profit. They want the food delivered at 3 different time slots each day: Day 1...

    Mixers

I would check ebay and local auctions. You can get a used mixer that will do the same job as a new one for a fraction of the price. My first shop has been open 8 years and I have never had a problem with my used Hobart mixer. For my newest shop I got a used Hobart 60 quart mixer for $250 off...

She is looking to purchase 55 Large Pizzas and 960 Wings. The catch is that she is going around to all of the local pizza establishments...

    Saputo whole milk

I used to be a Grande user as well. I did a blind taste test of Lugano (made by Saputo) whole milk mozzarella diced cheese along with my employees and some family. Honestly, no one could tell the difference between the two. For some reason my supplier stopped carrying Lugano so I switched to...

    Door Hanger dilemma

I have found that full color pulls a better response for me. It also portrays the image of quality. Put yourself in your customers shoes. Lets say you get doorhangers with similar coupons from 2 different pizza shops that you have never eaten at. One doorhanger is a basic 2 color on stock paper...

My shop got burglarized the other night

Re: My shop got robbed the other night Registered Guest: You’re right. My mistake in using the wrong word. I could not imagine actually being robbed and having a gun pointed at one of my employees. What a horrible thing to experience and to think you’ve been through it twice in the last year...

how do you pay the "doorhager" people

Right now I’m not currently door hanging because I’m in upstate, NY and it’s still freezing cold and there’s snow on the ground. As the weather warms up I will be starting to doorhang again. I have my employees do them. I always have a few employees who want more hours so I schedule them to come...

My shop got burglarized the other night

Thursday night some lowlifes broke into one of my shops. They stole 3 of my computers and clipped all of the wires. Unfortunately they stole my main server computer that has my pos program on it. They also stole my cash drawer. It was empty but I’m a little upset that my manager shut the drawer...

    Pepsi Prices----Lets Compare

What: If you don’t mind me asking, how much business (in terms of dollars spent each week) do you do with Pepsi that enables you to get those rebates? I’m curious because I will soon be opening my 3rd store and will be doing some pretty good volume. Right now I order through Pepsi but I do not...

Will I ever get financing for my Pizzeria?

My advice is to buy an existing place. When I got into the business I was 21 years old and had zero experience. A relative of mine had a friend who wanted to retire and sell his pizza shop. I was able to buy the business for $25,000. I had set up a deal with the owner where I paid him $3000 down...

Do dough presses work ? anyone ?

I use dough presses in my stores and they work great. My finished pizzas always come out of the oven with a nice raised edge. The great thing about a dough press is that it takes little practice to learn how to press out a dough. They’re fool proof and provide consistency.
