    Yelp

I have spent the better part of a half decade trying to figure out your question about the Yelp algorithm and I think it boils down to: How many total reviews you’ve ever made (The vast majority of reviews that are filtered, the person has less than 15-20 reviews) Your frequency of reviews The...

    Customer Complaint....

My personal philosophy and the way I train my team is to always offer a replacement if a pizza is incorrect and note in the POS system to insure that we have a record of it. The customer is expecting to have the experience of tasting all the flavors of the toppings they ordered and I understand...

    Cut Table

Webstaurant.com has some nice SS tables and I would also check Craigslist.

pizza delivery bags for 10-12 inch pizzas

If you have a Restaurant Depot close by, they sell a smaller bag for around $20-$25 that I think would work great for what you are looking for.

    New Employee Training Manual

Hi All, Does anyone have a training guide they would be willing to share, kind of like a checklist of items to teach new employees organized by employee position? We have a handbook which goes over general rules and procedures but for the training manual I’m looking more for a checklist that...

    Building a Professional Website

Check out 99Designs.com. We’ve used them for Facebook cover page design and logo design and were EXTREMELY happy with the results. I would suggest going to their website and watching the video about how it works. In a nutshell, you create a “contest” for whatever design task you would like...

    Edge or Xlt oven

Mike and Mark are great guys and we have been super happy with our oven thats just coming up on 2 years. They are very responsive to questions and any issues that arise and you can’t beat that warranty! To piggyback on a couple other comments, the quietness and utility savings were quite...

    Keeping Pizzas Warm

OSV, thats a great idea! I will most definitely look into that if the price comes back out of the range we are willing to spend. The custom shelf does provide a couple features that the dunnage racks wouldn’t provide (multiple levels, heavier gauge, and has a more polished look) but I will...

    Keeping Pizzas Warm

Thanks for the info guys! We currently put them atop our oven but we have run out of space on busy nights. One of our customers owns a fabricating company and one day he was in and I asked him about fabricating a custom shelf that sits atop our single deck oven. Think we are going to go that...

Adding a service charge for customers using credit cards

I agree that offering a cash discount is much more customer friendly that assessing a surcharge for credit card use, it’s all about the mental framing! Maybe this is just a Midwest thing but there are several pizzerias in neighboring towns that only accept cash and have an ATM located in the...

    Keeping Pizzas Warm

Hi All, Was interesting in seeing everyones setup for pizzas that have been run through the oven and boxed and are just waiting for pickup or delivery. Do you store them atop your oven? Do you have warming plates on a special rack? Please upload a picture if you can as I am looking for ideas...

Things NOT to say to a pizza operator

“What do you mean you don’t deliver here?? We are only like 5 minutes away!!” As my brother has always said: The customer isn’t always right, but they’re never wrong

How many hours do you work per week?

You are a man of many hats! I have always said I would love to learn about becoming a business broker as it satisfies my need of variety in my work. How did you go about becoming a broker?

How many hours do you work per week?

1 store. During summer months (since our college kids are on summer break and have open availability) I average about 30 hours a week and not during summer months usually around 45/50 a week. There have been weeks during the summer which I only work about 23 hours and that in my mind is a vacation!

What is your Unique Selling Proposition?

I enjoyed reading through all your responses! This may sound strange but our USP is distancing ourselves as much as possible from the chains by creating an “old world pizzeria feel”. We have exposed brick in our small dining room, make as much from scratch as logistically possible, source...

Point of success improvement Thank you William from K&K

William is awesome! We have used him for years and I always say he is one of the best things we’ve ever spent money on here in the pizza shop. Went from writing tickets in the very beginning to Point of Success about a year after opening and could not be any happier.
