    Wages and payroll %

Currently right now i shoot for 18 to 20% labor. I am also an owner operator and that is without my salary included (Revention does not handle salary well so i just set my pay to $0.00). We have a local min wage of $9.30 that by law goes up $0.90 each year until 2020, then it will be tied to...

    Soda Pricing

Well they used the whole, Kid angle here to get it passed. OMG Think of all the poor children who have to drink this unhealthy crap (because they can sooooo afford to buy the stuff that is good for them) ! Never mind the way they worded the law, it taxes everything. Even alcoholic drinks and...

    Soda Pricing

I am currently at $72 per BIB. BUT starting July 1, Boulder has passed a $0.02 per OUNCE tax on all soda. So yeah … and they haven’t finalized the rules yet either.

    Lettuce Shortage?

Nope, have the same problem here. I never bought my lettuce with Roma(my supplier) because i have a King Soopers 100 yards from me. About the same price for much better Quality. About 3 weeks ago they hung up signs warning everyone that they are experiencing shortages and apologize. I vaguely...

Going delivery without poaching pick up customers......

Starting Delivery will incur a fairly large initial expense, and it will take time for it to start paying for itself. But if you do it right, your ticket average should be higher then carryouts. So you need to decide if all the extra costs will be worth it in the long run, and make sure you can...

Where would you open a carryout/delivery store within U.S. for highest sales?

I would also seriously consider what the local labor market looks like. If you can’t find employee’s it doesn’t matter how good your product is. Customers will never be able to buy it.

    POS went down yesterday

There was a AV software package that incorrectly was flagging system files as malware this weekend. Huge deal in the IT arena, as it was stopping windows from booting. The AV software maker made a update that could be applied manually to get the problem resolved, but it caused ALOT of issues. I...

    Secure Access Controlling System

Honestly, there is no way. Best you can do is a keyed (electronic lock or physical key) entry door with a camera on the inside to record anyone who keys in. Just make sure the camera can not be modified, and it feeds an offsite computer.

    Here Come the Pizza Gestapo

I would just give the basic information. IE requirement per ounce, and then list the ounces to make all the pizzas. Boom you meet the requirement it just requires basic math skills… oh that’s right. American’s can’t be bothered to think for themselves anymore. my bad.

GrubHub.... Is this really this hard of a company to deal with???

Used them for 3 months 5 years ago when i purchased my store. Dropped them for various reasons. Some you have pointed out, some are new. Honestly if i were you i drop them completely, UNLESS they are a big enough portion of your income.

    Fattmerchant as CC processor?

I will be switching from First Data to Vantiv soon because of problems with First Data recently. The main reason for the change is they will meet First Data’s rates, just as they will with you and Fattmerchant. Seems they are trying to build their customer base and willing to match any better...
