Another Competitor Opening in Less than One Week!

When we opened Dominos had staff holding boards all over the place, with deals etc. It seemed to spur people to come to us. In fact we always do better when dominos have this drive, I wish they would do it more often. I say just work your mailing list once theirfanfare period has died down, you...

Growing a new Pizza Shop in a High end mall

I understand holding on to your cash instead of paying for the seating area, but what if having the seating area brought a bigger cashflow quicker. If you’re near the entrance/exit surely people walking past your seated customers with your food would be great promo, shoppers leaving the mall...

    Customer Burn Out Phenomenon

How do you get round this problem? We get new customers all the time (good), they say we have the best pizza in town (good) and they order regularly enough to reassure us they meant the comments(good). They will order four or five times a month, then BAM they stop. This isn’t just a now and...

Domino's Copies Marketing Idea from ThinkTank

Since opening we have been putting the pressure on our local Dominos. We started Ben+Jerrys, so they started. We have done stuffed crust for years, oh look now they do. We just play on their marketing, so with the stuffed crust they have banners and flags. Sure, everyone would see stuffed crust...

Should I give feedback on a new Pizzeria's food?

Definitely give the feedback, when we first opened our store friends and family said our pizzas were great. Turned out they we average at best in the eyes of most customers but the damage was done as we took too long to change. Few people like to give criticism and few like to receive it but...

People aren't stupid, but they make wonder!

Brad, you’re a genius. New menu being designed and that’s just the ticket. Thanks.

How much does a conveyor simplify your operation?

For ease of operation for you and your team, and if you have the volume of customers go to conveyor. Good ingredients, dough and service will still make a very good pie on a conveyor. You can always try for perfection on each pie on a deck but perfection in in the eye of the beholder, so your...

Good promo tonight ~450 people showed up.

This has gotta be worth a go, we going through a relaunch process. I think this will be ideal way to show the difference in quality that my material just can’t do.(Everyone claims to be the best, freshest, cheapest, fastest and friendliest).

People aren't stupid, but they make wonder!

I still new to this business, but I am still amazed at what comes out of peoples mouths. It really shows when designing marketing material you have to really spell things out and highlight very clearly. I know there is an old joke about this, but it’s happened to me twice this week. Our medium...

    September Sales

Ditto with pcuezze, we had a fantastic start, looked to be the best month ever but some how nosed dived into just another month. You gotta love the pizza eating public, playing with my sanity like this.

    How to Franchise?

I think you will need a lot of branches and a strong brand name before you can even think of franchising. I to want to expand my pizza outlet and intend to use a business model I used in a previous industry. It works like this:- On your second store go into business as a partner with one of...

    Good Opportunity?

Hi Guys, been lurking for a while, fairly new to forums. How is this for an opportunity for a delco pizza outlet? Population: 28,000 and growing. Reasonably wealthy area, no college but high school. Competition: 1 Dominos, three old takeout grills with pizzas on the menu, that’s it. Location...

    Vacations (or lack thereof)?

We have been open two years, we are taking our first five day break next week. Phone will still be on so can help with any problems. Lovin the idea of closing for a week over christmas, makes sense. None of our staff want to work then, customers are full of food and have no money. I’m doing...

    To Small Of A Spot?

We at 800sq ft, works fine. Low stock holding but our suppliers deliver weekly and are very rarely out of stock on anything. Just needs a bit of planning.

    Chains ingredients

aj453: Exactly everyone’s point, Pepsi are emphasising their strengths with real sugar, they are not listing Cokes ingredients. The superiority is just implied and therefore stronger. Don’t give your competitors free advertising in your store or ads, it also shows you see them as a threat...

Can folks tell from the road you sell pizza?

Never forget how quick you have to be with customers, if it’s not obvious they will simply move on. We have a pizza and movie rental business. We have 200 dvds on one wall that’s it but its the first thing you see when you look in. The signage shouts pizza, pictures of pizzas everywhere...

To deliver or to not deliver

We want to encourage more carryout, to relieve some of the effort. All our competitors offer free delivery, as do we (I think we are in some price/service war). Our Chinese and Indian takeaway next door offer 15% discount for collection orders, thus keeping the free delivery caption on their...

To deliver or to not deliver

Delivery is just too much of a headache. We have to do because all our competitors do but would rather not. We are gradually making our deals geared to collection and make a premium on the delivery orders.
