Using the BUSY Wal-Mart across the street to my advantage?

royster13: I do run there occasionally, and I always have my work attire on when I do go. As for the 'hot and ready" type offering, how could that be connected to Wal Mart? Unfortunately, I’ve spoken to some of the “higher up” people at Wal Mart who come over here for lunch on a regular...

Using the BUSY Wal-Mart across the street to my advantage?

I’ve attached an image of our location in regards to Wal-Mart and also the surrounding area in my original post. Where would people suggest: I place signage (trying to take into account what is legal and what’s not) To place some people dancing with signs.

Using the BUSY Wal-Mart across the street to my advantage?

We have a verry busy Wal-Mart located right across the street. It’s viewable from our store front and they can see us from the doors of Wal-Mart. I’ve been in touch with upper management in Wal-Mart, but they say there is nothing they can do in terms of advertising. They basically said if...

    Magnets - 3.5" x 2" OR 3.5" x 4"

I’d be getting them from www.4thefridge.com. $475 for 5000 menus which breaks down to 9.5 cents each. Plus $75 for shipping and minus a $50 promotional offer and we’re looking at $500 even for $5000. They said no additional costs for designing them, so my bottom line cost SHOULD be $500.

    Magnets - 3.5" x 2" OR 3.5" x 4"

Here are the prices I’ve been quoted (all prices include design costs, shipping, and any current promotions) Full Color 3.5" x 2" $272 for 2500 $500 for 5000 Full Color 3.5" x 4" $477 for 2500 $820 for 5000 What’s your experience with magnets? Does the simple 3.5" x 2" serve it’s purpose, or...

Front Cover Clipper Magazine - Free Pizza for Life?

Piper: I’m waiting to get our proof back before reevaluating what to do for the cover. As for the $x off coupons v. package coupons, my sample size is far too small to make a judgment based exclusively off my past results. However, while redemption can’t be the only variable, it must be...

    CFM Concepts for Menus?

If anyone can, I’d be interested in seeing people post some sort of image or PDF file of their menu from CFM Concepts. My wife and I are trying to put together our menu and we’re having a tough time deciding how to effectively place each section throughout the menu.

Front Cover Clipper Magazine - Free Pizza for Life?

qcfmike: I’m not worried about burning people out. Here’s the thing. First off, just because you CAN get a free pizza each week doesn’t mean you will. Second, the 80/20 rule saying 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customer seems to hold true for us. A good portion of our business...

Front Cover Clipper Magazine - Free Pizza for Life?

qcfmike: Yeah, free pizza for a year, or for the remainder of 2010 might work better. Then we can certainly run the promotion more than once and not worry about our “advertising costs”.

Front Cover Clipper Magazine - Free Pizza for Life?

indie pizza: We’ve run with an assortment of different coupon types, and from the response we’ve gotten, the $X off $Y promotion has been the most successful. We’ve done things like 2 Large 1 topping for $X, Pizza and Wings for $X, but people seem to prefer to use something that gives them more...

Front Cover Clipper Magazine - Free Pizza for Life?

My pizzeria will be on the front cover of Clipper Magainze for September’s issue. This is certainly our most aggressive marketing to date (been in business since April). Last month we had a full page ad with moderate success. I’ll scan in our last ad tomorrow so you all can see what we did for...

Keeping Pizza Ovens On All Night?

I wanna bump this topic. I use Marsal Brick ovens and have always been told (even from my NY days where we used Baker’s Pride ovens) that the amount of energy it takes to initially heat the oven is so much that it comes close to equaling what it would take to keep them at their running temp. I...

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

gbomb: I guess this is true. To change the topic (I’ll probably create a separate post), I’m looking to get some menus made. Last time, we used CFM Concepts and got a discount because we were Grande Cheese customers. Here is our pricing this time with the discount: 11x17 full colour tri-fold...

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

It’s so tough to just track coupons by use though. What coupons are being used by those ppl just looking for a deal vs. the people who you will actually retain as customers? No matter how good your food is, some people are just looking for a deal.

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

George Mills: I’m kind of confused with this post. I never discounted popular preference and clearly stated my understanding of the success of the pig chains. Like I said, things like Pizza Hut, CiCi’s, etc. can be “good investments”. So I completely understand. With money, there are plenty of...

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

Here’s a question. I may start an extra thread for this one. I’m a numbers person. If I pick a marketing strategy, I want to be able to quantify my results as much as possible. An issue I’m facing now is advertising through numerous methods simultaneously. I have an ad coming out in Clipper...

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

pizzapirate: Poor explanation on my part. 3 full page ads and a front cover. These 4 ads will be spread out over the course of 4 issues of the magazine. I’ll have a full page this month, a front cover in September, a full page in October and a full page ad in December. The place has been open...

NY to FL: Logging My Journey to Open a Pizzeria

alasdair: Sounds like a plan. I actually have a my pizza guy back from his trip to NY that he’s been on the past month so I’m going to be in and out Monday and Tuesday. After that I’ll be there open to close for the rest of the week. As for pizza help, isn’t North Port a good 45 minutes from...
