How many serve beer? Opinions please.

M husband called our Insurance Agent, our Lawyer, the Township, and the County Police - so we covered our bases. We were told that we could not open it, provide glasses or advertise it, and that way we have no liability. The regulations may vary where you are, but I would check with the same...

How many serve beer? Opinions please.

Have you thought about BYOB? That’s what we do at our store. Then, people can just bring it if they want it. It’s worked out for us. Customers bring a 6 pack, or a bottle of vino and enjoy their pizza or pasta dinner. We are across from a restaurat/bar and sometimes they go across the street...

    E-mail Marketing

We call ours “Members Only Club” It actually was an evolution since we opened. When we opened, we did not sell Breadstix as we did not want to compete against our Pizza sales. So, we sold Breadstix and “Special Sauce” to our customers that asked for it. We called it “Members Only” After we...

    hand-on or abssentee

We are hands on owners. We have a manager that makes pizza one nite a week and every other Sat nite and Sunday so we can take off. We do not have plans to become absentee owners… plans to have our manager work more when he is fully up and running. But he has been there 6 months, and hubby has...

    Passing on the Violin

Thanks for the well wishes for hubby! He is indeed on the mend. Had the nite off tonite and is off tomorrow. To my surprise, he actually is resting. I guess the whole “not breathing thing” really scared him!! My heartfelt empathy to all of you with delivery issues. We do not deliver, so I do...

    Passing on the Violin

Thought I would throw my 2 cents in as well… Hubby and I run the shop, and both have been sick for the past week. He sends me home last nite because I am beat (esp in this heat!) and he comes home looking like crap and saying he can’t breathe. He’s not lying - face is beet red, veins popping...

closing on sundays for the summer?

I think you have to look at your market. We were closed on Sundays last summer when we first opened, then we opened in the fall and did great business on Sundays. We decided to stay open, alot of it due to the fact I quit my job and we needed the extra income… But we are located in a park with...

    raising our menu pricing

We raised our prices an average of 10% (13% on our pizzas) back in April. Regarding swaying customers “off the deal” mentality, it’s a slow brainwashing type of process. We opened May 2006 and started out with coupon advertising, giving away stuff, etc, but then we weaned away from it. Then...

    new here, question about desserts

We offer desserts - brownies all the time and a cake that changes weekly (ie, carrot cake, death by chocolate, mousse cakes, etc) We buy them from a local vendor who makes them fresh and then we mark them up. We have been in business for 13 months and our customers are getting to know about...
