    pizzeria as partners

An amazingly well thought out post… Wonder why no one responded to it, also wonder what this guy decided.

    Mixers and OSHA requirements

Looking at a used mixer, guy selling it said he got it from a hospital and they needed the guard for OSHA requirements… I hadn’t even considered that some used equipment may no longer meet OSHA requirements. I’m going to call them tomorrow, but does anyone know anything about this?

    Insurance???

Bubba: The whole thing is just really frustrating, but I will call them tomorrow. One company told me they ran just the liability through 7 companies before someone would underwrite it. I asked why and he said they don’t like new restaurant owners because of the equipment. I told the the guy...

    Insurance???

I know this has been discussed in the past, but I couldn’t find the answer I was looking for… General liability, workman’s comp, hired non owned auto… We’re looking at about 600/month at least, and he had trouble getting the last two. Is this common?

    VA Beach pizza?

I live near there… Unfortunately I’m not open yet, otherwise I’d suggest mine. Where at in Virginia Beach exactly? And honestly, if you’ve got some time, I wouldn’t mind buying you a beer to pick your brain.

Public restroom required for DELCO with no seating?

I spent all day in the damn codes yesterday looking for a loophole… As far as the unisex bathroom not being sufficient, I would have him show you the code… I know there is a big chart in the International Plumbing Code, chapter 4, that shows what is required depending on type of business and...

Public restroom required for DELCO with no seating?

One of the links that popped up was from Florida. Seems cut and dry there, seems like it varies by locality elsewhere. So dumb.

    Anyone heard of this?

Nice, I like that… I’ll call them Monday.

    Digital Menu Boards

royster13: That’s what I was thinking… It’ll bother my OCD a little to not have them synced up perfectly, but I’ll deal.

    Digital Menu Boards

That’s an option… I was hoping for one computer running a few slide shows outputted to 2 or 3 different TVs… Researched a little more after I posted, I think you can run a slide show off a USB with a lot of TVs, so maybe that is the best option.

    Hours of Operation

bodegahwy: I can assure you that we have a more forward thinking approach than the vast majority of people who open a DELCO. I agree with everything you are saying, in time. The issue I have, and I don’t see how you can overlook this, is how could I possibly train someone else to run my store...

    Digital Menu Boards

These can’t be complicated, and there has to be an easy DIY for it. Anyone use these? What did it cost? Better yet, did anyone build their own system and how did that turn out?

    Hours of Operation

One of my first order of business is to get someone in there I can trust to open and close from time to time… But until I know the business backwards and forwards and can write procedures and policies in place to leave nothing to chance, I’m not even going to entertain the thought. I hope I can...

    Hours of Operation

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m not terribly worried about burnout for at least 6 months. I’ve told my wife that once we start it, just pretend I’m on deployment (I’m currently active duty navy and will be starting our place when I get out). I’m hoping to still get up and make breakfast for the kids...

    Need some feedback

In my first business, letting go was very hard, but it is essential for growth. I agree with the ‘work on not in’ your business. Once we open, I plan to work in only as long as it takes to create procedures and policies, then I’ll replace myself, and start working on growing it.

    Kudos Revention!

I feel like buying a POS is like buying a home… There are a lot of things you must have, but there will always be something you didn’t know you didn’t like until you use it/live there for a few months. I was correct in thinking that the issue was silly, they can indeed format emails and...

    Kudos Revention!

Revention actually called me after reading this post. I’ll talk with them today. I’m glad they did, as it seemed like a silly issue and could think of no marketing email I have ever received that wasn’t formatted at all. It was illogical and would’ve probably been a total deal breaker. I don’t...
