    Buy Papa johns

There is a Papa Johns for sale here in Canada. Its been open only for a year, but they made 650k in revenues last year. They also gave away another 200k worth of discounts, so their food costs for the whole year are about 40%. They spend a ton on local marketing too - about 20k/year. The last...

    Labor costs over 50%

Have you tried to see if having a bare minimum crew for those hours, would bring the costs down?

    Starting my Mailshark today.

So 30,000 X 5 = 150000 mailing per year = 50k @ 0.36/magnet, when you started off? That seems to require a lot of courage to pull the trigger on.

    Starting my Mailshark today.

I think tricky part is to know which marketing effort to keep going for long term benefits that you still havent seen, and which to cut off cause there wont be any long term benefits either.

    Starting my Mailshark today.

So I assume over a period of 10 weeks, they would send the magnets to 25000 households for a total of 0.36 X 25000, about $8000. what sort of ROI can one expect for that? Do they provide any math for it?

    Labor costs over 50%

I think they do it such that the 3 who came at 11 do stick around till 2. and the ones who came in at 12 stick around till 3 atleast. I cant speak about the labor laws, but every franchise restaurant biz I spoke with had staggered labor schedule, where people come and go throughout the day...

    Labor costs over 50%

I have been reviewing franchises and gleaned some info in the process. They actually apply the labor hour method on an hourly level. So they get sales for each hour of the day from their POS, and then allocate employees for each hour to ensure they meet their labor targets. Eg : Monday: 11...

    Economics of the Slice Model

If I werein your shoes, I would: Hang outside a shop and see how many people go in and out at various times of the day. Visit shop during various times to see how many people are there, how much they order, what they order, how many pizzas you see displayed and extrapolate some educate guesses.

    Super short distance delivery

Ah the convoluted metric system… I should remember this when I post here. 1 meter = 3 feet 200 meters = 600 feet. 500 meters = 1500 feet I have also updated my original post with measurements in ‘feet’.

    Super short distance delivery

The dilemma is that the price of a sandwich is about $8 and the majority of the students dont want to pay a $3 delivery fee for it. So if I start delivering all across campus, it might not be feasible. So I figured that I will let students order as little as one sandwich for $8, and will also...

    Super short distance delivery

Before I start delivering all across the campus I am thinking of just starting off small from 1 location and 1 driver at 1 time period (lunch), so as to not mess up and spend too much on labor or have service issues etc. I am doing this just to get in on the action of that exists in the campus...

    Super short distance delivery

This is for the lunch hours so no drunk students here. Also the drop off location is close to where their classes are. Its also close to other restaurants in the food court etc. Which are all within a minute or 2 of each other. I figured it would be like delivering to a office or a warehouse...

    Super short distance delivery

As I had mentioned in another thread, I am reviewing a business for purchase in a university area which has about 50k-70k or even 100k people going through the area every day. The business I am reviewing is about 500-700 meters (1500 - 2100 feet) away from the university core and a good 5- 7...

How would you handle this employee infraction?

You may want to check older videos to see if the person, or other folks do the same thing closer to the end of the shifts, to find out if this problem goes deeper. May be they picked this habit from their earlier employer, where it was acceptable to do so, and have continued here too. In which...
