PMQ's New Issue: Have You Received it yet?

Haven’t got mine yet in St. Louis, MO.

    Community moderation

Is there a way to block a particular user from posting messages? Like, for instance, curatorsm who seems to be putting just about all of the garbage posts out there lately. If he could be blocked somehow, most of the recent spam would be gone. Just wondering…

    Caeser Salad

Anonymous: We prepare ours this way (or with the dressing on the side if the customer requests). A related question I have is this–is there a great way to store romaine lettuce to keep it fresh? We seem to have a problem with it going bad very quickly. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Phone policy for employees

What do you all have in the lines of policies concerning the use of phones (both restaurant and cell) by your employees? I am trying to define some rules for my employees, so I was interested in any input. What I have so far is the following: No personal phone conversations while you are...

    Grocery Store Receipt Ads

Anonymous: That does make me wonder…does anyone have anything at the bottom of their own receipts that says something like, “Bring this receipt in on a future visit and receive ____”? If so, how does it work and what kind of offer do you put on there? We use Point of Success and would be able...

    Business Credit Report

Jeff Ward: The timing of this post is great. We just got a letter in the mail the other day from D&B saying we should call them because our “Score” had changed. It said we could request our score online. I went to their website to do that (thinking it would give it to me online) but all it did...

    Black Book POSTCARD

I was just wondering…has anyone ever tried sending out a Black Book Letter type offer on a postcard? It seems to me that if it is the great offer that people go for (and the word “FREE”), then wouldn’t a postcard get the same results as the letter, but for a much cheaper price? Or am I missing...

    I need Clip Art

j_r0kk, I usually have success with clipart from office.microsoft.com (I get to it through Microsoft Publisher). I did a search for “flat tire” and got the following: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/results.aspx?qu=flat+tire&sc=20#0 If these images aren’t exactly what you were...

Incredible Pizza Company moving in behind us

Thanks for all of the comments so far everyone! You all make valid points. Our customer base is definitely different. Just looking at customers this past weekend, it was primarily couples (dating and married), groups of couples, and families with young children (too young for the type of games...

Incredible Pizza Company moving in behind us

Here is our situation–thought I would see if you guys had any helpful insights: We are located in a strip center. Behind us (our back door faces their parking lot) is a former Georgia Carpet Outlet and Target store building. The Target has moved and in its place is now a church. The GCO is...

    Dealing with Stress

mandino: Thanks, mandino! I also put my trust in the Lord, although I let the devil tempt me and get me to worrying more than I should. I appreciate the Bible references. Some verses I find comforting are Philipians 4:4-7. Thanks again! SaraH

    Dealing with Stress

P.S. If someone could come along and dump about $20,000 into my business bank account (that I would not have to pay back) a lot of my stress would go away and I would be free to handle the rest of the issues more easily. Anyone interested???

    Dealing with Stress

I’m glad to see all of these responses and know that I’m not alone in my stress either! It seems the worst time for me is waking up around 3 or 4 in the morning and just lying there in bed worrying about everything. I’m trying to think of ways to be more organized also. I think I will start...

    Door hanging hours ??

j_r0kk: j_r0kk, Just curious…what kind of offer are you sending out on your postcard? I like the idea of postcards because they are cheaper, but I’m not sure what’s the best “hook” on the postcard to bring in customers. Mind letting us in on what you are doing?? Thanks!! SaraH

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

Royce, The postcard I plan to send out would be going to customers that were already at our restaurant. We have a basket on our counter where we collect names and addresses. Then we draw a name and the winner gets “Dinner and a Movie for Two”. I was going to use the names and addresses of the...

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

A quick question for you, Heather. On your offer for the iPod, did you have a minimum purchase they had to make to receive the 10% off? I do not want people coming in and redeeming their 10% on a small soda. Can you let me know please? Thanks!

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

Thanks for the ideas, Heather! I like the free iPod one. I checked on-line, and an iPod Shuffle costs only about $70-$80, so to give away a free one in exchange for extra business is not bad at all. I’m going to try to get postcards out for the month of February and then hold the drawing on...

    Doorhangers vs. Postcards

heather: Heather, What kind of offer do you put on your postcards? I was planning on sending out postcards to some of our existing customers but I wasn’t sure what the best idea was for the offer. Can you please let us know? Thanks!

Need Help From Point Of Success Users

We do use Point of Success, but we do not charge full price for a 1/2 topping on a pizza. I agree with NicksPizza though that you could work around it by creating extra buttons that say “1/2 Onion”, but you would need to have three buttons for each topping: for example, “Onion”, “Half 1 Onion”...
