    Considering Startup

Okay, you wanted it. Here it is: Way too vague. If you want good answers, start asking good questions. You will never get the right answers asking the wrong questions. The pizza business is great. It is great when it is great, and sucks rocks when it isn’t. I have seen more than enough...

    SHIMMMER.com

Re: Seller to be avoided SHIMMMER.com MBramhall: Disappointed in your customers? Go screw yourself. A simple email would have solved this problem. A defensive post on a public forum is hot the way to do it. Try some humility dude. You are the one who screwed up here, not your customer or...

    Here's one to ponder...

That is huge. Have you measured your oven capacity? Even at 200 pies an hour 2k is 10 hours straight. I remember 1000 pie orders from the U of M football team. We were pushing 600 pie hours in 4 MM ps360s. Not fun, but at the same time it was kinda fun.

What's your #1 Marketing Method of choice?

I spent about $40,000 for my 4 stores every year. Every time I sent a mailer, I wished I was in the US to get lower postal rates. It was actually cheaper to mail my post cards from Hong Kong to Japan than to do it locally. Post card postage cost: 50 yen (61 cents or so). 1500 postcards is about...

    Oven query

sidneyt23: Yes, you are reading it wrong. Do not confuse advice with your own preconceptions. I asked because if you have no experience with a deck, then save yourself the hassle and buy a conveyor. Learning from scratch with no mentor on a deck is a recipe for disaster, burnt arms, and crappy...

    Planning to buy

I recommend going with POS Pizza. It is a great starter system, and you can get it up and running with a very low investment. Do 2-3 database mailers, and it pays for itself. 24 Hour support is way over rated. Having a system in place to handle a computer outage is a far better plan than having...

Bakers Pride gets my vote as well. Just a question though, how much experience do you guys have with baking pizzas in deck ovens?

    goood bye

Yep. If you have been around here for a while, the ‘independent contractor’ discussion comes up every once in a while. Like I said in my earlier post, it is one of the oldest scams in the book.

Help! Oven manufacturer has me over a barrel.

If you want to go McGuyver, find a local machine shop. They would probably be happy to do it for pizza. I needed a part that I broke while screwing around on a slow day, and went to the machine shop at the local university and had the part I needed in a few hours.

debbie9025: Just two points for you. You are evading taxes. I can go into your operation and calculate how many dough balls come out of every bag of flour that comes in your door. The IRS can as well. If your inventory and records show unreported sales, and you can’t explain where the product...

Here is the definition for you: You haven’t added a single productive thing in your short history of posts. If you think we are all horrible for pointing out the obvious, then please just move along to some other ‘blog’.

bodegahwy: Hey Bo - Don’t even bother engaging with that troll. The chances of someone sitting on the sidelines, just waiting for a post like this one are near zero. Especially for someone who makes some fairly obvious punctuation mistakes.

As was already pointed out, you came here with exactly that question. What did you expect people to say? “Good job evading payroll taxes and...
