Comcast goes down a LOT more often than Century Link around here. In 19 years we had Century link go down exactly twice. Once for 2-3 hours the other cost us the rest of the day. Comcast went down twice last month at my house.

    Conveyor Vs. Deck Oven

The “stigma” is in your mind. Famous Perry is right. 95% of the quality 100% of the time from a conveyor is far better than the true outcome of deck ovens handled by any but the best cooks on their best days. Put even average cooks on deck ovens and you get 100% quality 25% of the time and 75%...

    How did you get started?

There was a screw loose in my brain. While I was distracted wondering what the rattling sound was I saw a newspaper ad for an equipment package from a failed PJ’s in place and new lease. I went to look at it. Despite having spent my professional life in another industry altogether (Senior VP of...

Traveling, looking to stop at some places.

It is not the location I worked at but one of my earliest Pizza jobs was at the Green Mill. They have a location in Bloomington. The one I worked at is the original location in St Paul. I worked there as a pizza cook. I guess it would have been 1982-1983 or maybe 1983-1984? I remember it as...

How best to sell off a store worth of equipment

Ebay can work. I purchased some larger items there. But you have to be prepared to crate the items up and be able to lift them into a freight hauler truck.

    Google Ad Words

First of all, welcome to the Tank. I see this is your first post. If there are active advertisers you will never hit the top 3 unless you pay. Paid search appears above organic search. At least 75% of your customers who find you via search are using a mobile device and the organic results are...

    Your sales in first year?

First full year was around 325K if I remember right. It was 20 years ago. Grew pretty nicely for a couple of years and then leveled out before the recession 10 years ago. Dropped back to 325 during the recession and grew slowly again from there.

Going delivery without poaching pick up customers......

if you decide to deliver (and I agree with the others that is sounds like you could do without) charge for delivery and move on. $5 delivery fee. If that is too much for the customer then they can keep on picking up. In the end, some of them WILL switch to delivery. Don’t bother yourself about...

    Letting an employee go

Pay them what they are owed on their last day by check. Don’t wait for the next pay day. Include any vacation pay due. Thank them for working there and “sorry it did not work out”. Paul is right, they can do more harm on social media and reviews than any satisfaction from telling them off is worth.

    Breakfast pizzas

Years ago we did it pretty much this way too when we served b’fast pizza at our slice location. We used four eggs and 10oz of mozz on a 16". Cook as normal. We started with our regular pizza sauce and then added the eggs/mozz and topped with a variety of things including ham, jalapeno...
