Affordable Care Act....is this affecting you?

We received an email today from our insurance broker concerning things that need to start being looked at in terms of being in compliance with the Affordable Care Act.

From what I understand, we don’t really have to do anything until we have at least 50 employees. Am I right?

Has any of this affected you already and what are you doing to plan for it? Have you got a good resource that makes it all make a little more sense?

It has not affected our business (yet). You are right about the 50 full time employee part.

But personally it has already helped us.

I have yet to find somebody well versed enough in the specifics to definitively tell me about it.
In our personal life, our carrier dropped all individual plans due to “recent and upcoming changes in federal regulations”. We were picked up by another carrier for a 30% increase in monthly rate. :roll:
