First Data/Chase Paymentech Terminal end of life notice

Hello All,

Notification has been sent to all First Data/Chase Paymentech sales groups regarding the new PCI/DSS compliance for terminals currently in service with merchants across the U.S. What this means to the merchant is that some terminals have been deemed “non-compliant” and therefore the software download will be taken “off platform” so that the terminal is never downloaded again. The terminals that are currently being used can continue to be used until they fail, then the merchant will need to purchase or secure a new PCI/DSS compliant terminal.

Terminals affected are:

Verifone Tranz 330 All applications

Verifone Tranz 380/ 380x2 All applications

Verifone Zon JrXL/XL300 All applications

Telecheck Eclipse Retail/Restaurant applications ( First Data is currently trying to find a replacement for this application)

Verifone Lipman Nurit 2085 NOS 6 Retail/Restautant

Verifone Omni 3740/3750 Retail/Restaurant ( 2.5 and 3 mb)

While these impacted terminals are “off platform”, support remains in place for existing merchants with these hardware/software devices.

If the device fails or loses it’s download parameters, the device will need to be replaced.

unless you have one of these under LEASE. Then your merchant grabs the cost of the upgrade.
