Healthy Options? Calzones, Pastas, Kebabs, Personal Pizzas?

We are a pizza and cheesesteak place in a shopping center and we are losing too much business because our menu is simply too unhealthy. However we really get hit during rush periods and need to get food out fast (less than 10minutes)

Ideas are:

  1. Calzones (difficult to get out in 10 minutes)
  2. Personal pizzas (we are a pizza by the slice place-- may eat into our slice business too much)
  3. Pastas (tend to be loaded with carbs, we already offer spaghetti, lasagna, manicotti, etc anyways)
  4. Kebabs- probably my best idea so far

Any other ideas for healthy foods that one can eat every day? We already offer turkey subs, salads and wraps. We’re not limited to just pizza/Italian-- anything would be great.

We’ve tried “healthier pizzas by the slice” before and they just didn’t sell due to our prexisting “unhealthy” rep only drawing people looking for greasy cheesesteaks and pizza. I believe made to order would work out much better-- including the option to use part-skim cheeses. We currently use whole milk mozz for the pizzas-- can’t really change due to the crowds that love us as a greasy spoon, and too much work to offer separate pizzas.

Have you thought of maybe adding something Mediterranean like Gyros or fallafel? They can be perceived as healthier because of the lack of cheese as a main ingredient.
