Mixing Question....

We are having a Christmas Party this year and one of the things we are going to do is mix a big ol batch of cookie dough in our 60 qt. Hobart…Will the regular hook mix cookie dough…we also have a whip we could use. Any thoughts?

We have joked for years about making a big ol batch of cookie dough in the ol thing…when we used to tour the girl scouts that was always the joke we made…so finally decided to do it but hmmmm will it work?

use both…cream the butter/sugar w/whip, add flour, then add chips & use hook 2 finish

It will all depend upon the type of cookie and cookie dough thaw we’re talking about making. If it is for a scooped type of cookie, like a chocolate chip, then you will probably be able to use the whip for at least part of the mixing process, but the dough hook will not do a very good job of distributing the chocolate chips and/or nuts throughout the cookie dough, and the wire whip will act more like a cage, trapping all of the goodies in the middle of the whip with very poor distribution. I would try to get, beg or borrow a flat beater for my mixer. Remember, these attachments are specific to manufacturer, mixer model and bowl size. In most cases you can snag one for about $100.00.
