Non-fried Appetizer Ideas

Does anyone have any ideas for appetizers for a causel dining atmosphere. There are no fryers at the time and looking for other options.

wings, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers . . .

Heard you can do potato skins in the oven as well . . .

like pirate said plus potato skins go through very nice, onion rings, battered hot pepper rings potato wedges with cheese and bacon, battered mushrooms. there is a whole assortment of things but you have to make sure the cooking directions are not for “fry only”. those that say that will not cook correctly in the oven. Mccain has a wide assortment oof items for oven/bakeable

Inb addition to the ones Pizza Pirate has already called out, we do bread sticks and cheesy bread.

I found a “Queso Dipper” that does pretty well for me. It’s battered queso dip then rolled in crushed multi-color tortilla chips.

You can also do chicken strips…there are really a ton of pre-cooked items that you can run through a conveyor oven.

Hot artichoke/spinach dip. Scores of recipes on the internet.

Hummus

Garlic knots and Breadsticks stuffed with cheese and pepperoni.

quesadilla and nachos

Garlic knots, sauteed spinach or brocoli(or any other veg for that matter), guacamole(so easy), beef pattys, brushetta, fresh mozz/ tomato/ roasted peppers( w pesto, w balsamic, w olive oil and vinager), pizza bagels, polenta, eggplant parm

caprese salad, marinated fresh mozz balls, baba ganoush, mixed grilled/broiled vegetables, stuffed zuchini, bracciole, olivada paste/dip, carpacio (watch the raw beef issues). Any of scores of good braised dishes that can be done in the oven.

We can wander down Italy by region from Friuli to Latcia to Puglia :smiley:
