Pasta help

Does anyone serve pasta on a buffett, I want to but have an electric well, can i put the pasta in metal container and sit in the well to heat or should I have a well that has heated water and then the pasta sits on top of that so the hot water keeps the pasta hot, Not sure how it works or what works best.

i have 10 steam wells on my buffet.3 different pasta dishes twice a day.i run them with about 1-1/2 inches of water at medium heat.the only thing is to water down your sauce a little,after 30 minutes or so it will thicken.you also need to keep it moving or the top will dry out.

steam tables are really the best way to go in this case.
