Pizza Bag Straps breaking

We use rubbermaid pizza bags and have an issue with the pizza bag straps deteriorating and eventually breaking. They actually disinegrate like they are cooked. We keep them on top of the pizza oven and are pretty sure it’s causing the problem.

Can someone confirm this is the problem? And what would be the best material to repair the bag and still allow us to keep the bag on top of conveyor oven?

Actually, wouldn’t it be better to just put the boxed pizza on top of the oven, rather than the boxed, and then bagged pizza? It would seem to me that putting the boxed and bagged pizza on top of the oven is rather inefficient, if one is trying t keep the pizza warm as both the box and the bag are such good insulators.
