We are a new shop in a small town that is beginning to do alot more business. We are going to switch to a 2 line phone for now and my question to you all is; Will the call waiting ring through to the 2nd line or do I actually need to have the phone company give me a 2nd line?

If you have call waiting on a single line and you flash to get the other call you will need to have the phone company install a second line. They will need to set it up so if the first line is busy the next call will rotate or hunt to the second line. You can use a 2-line set for this set up or use a system that gives you more options and flexability.
Just some advice from an old telephone man, never have more lines than phones. Customers would rather get a busy signal than be put on hold.
