Water in sauce ?

We’re using a NY style sauce.

One #10 can of Escalon 6 in 1 Peeled Ground Tom
(2) 15 oz cans of tomato sauce and adding our spices.

I’ve seen most pizza sauce recipes adding water.
What would be the recommended amount of water for this mixture?


keep using tomato sauce, IMHO, its better than using water…keeps a better tomato taste…

we use 2 #10 cans of pizza sauce, 2 crushed tomatoes & 2 tomato sauce and just enough H20 to rinse out the cans, plus our spice mix…

Keep in mind my response is from home experimentation and not a large batch, but I use the following

2 cans (15oz each) sauce
2 cans (6oz each) paste
1 6oz can h20
spices (typical items)

I find if I don’t add some water, the sauce will thicken too much to the point it becomes unspreadable
