My gift card program interfaces with my POS (restaurant Manager). I have custom magnetic striped cards that are swiped into the sytem and track the sale like a credit card transaction. The best part is that since it is in-house I do not pay a commission to anybody and the cards that I pay for are replenishable. Also every gift card tranaction shows the balance on the customers receipt…highly recomend!

Funny you should ask. We are right in the middle of that exact same project. Preliminaries show that the cards will cost about 48 cents each. They’re made by my credit card processing company (Heartland Payment Systems). I’ll get you those transaction costs for you when I find out. -J_r0kk
