Please help me build a really great 2012 Pizza Industry Promotion Calendar. I’m listing below all the dates I have thought of so far, but hope that I am just getting started. Are there any special promotional dates I’m overlooking? Are there any special industry events or promotional ideas you’d like to see on the calendar? The calendar will be published in PMQ and also featured on the PMQ website. Thanks so much.

My hope is that the calendar will be useful to our pizza business readers by getting them to plan further ahead and consider a wider range of pizza selling events AND to encourage a pizza marketing vendors to create more and higher quality marketing services for our readers.

Maybe it’s just beacause I’m in a college town but the BCS national Championship game and the final four games are big days for us.

As an industry calendar that is a great list (With Daddio’s addition of 10-10) As a promo calendar there is a lot of fluff in there. Industry trade shows are not promotional opportunities. Also, I can see how they might be some markets, but I find government check day to be tedious and somewhat cynical. I would use President’s Day as a holiday rather than Lincoln or Washington. That is how the public knows it. Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays are not holidays.

If this is supposed to be a promotional calendar, take all that industry trade show stuff out of there. It has nothing to do with the topic.

OK… “Talk like a pirate day” ??? Really… I want too add the FFAD. Freddie for a Day…on Sept 5th. It is the tribute day for Freddie Mercury of Queen when you are suppos to dress like him for the day. 😛

Really. In Georgia, it is a big deal in the more populated areas, like metro-atlanta. there are parades some years, parties, eatery themes, all sorts of stuff. You could be the 1st in your market to come up with a fun special event . . . . . .
