assistant manager

thinking about hiring an assistant manager for night shift and was wondering if anyone who has one do you offer health insurance or any other benefits? Also pay by the hour or salary ( appx. 38-42 hrs/week)?
 
we have a “manager” he is on salary and has to work a minimum of 48 hours a week. He makes 30,000 a year and we offer him good insurance but he has to pay for it.
