care package

has any one had experience sending care packages to troops over seas?
We have several that have deployed and we want to do something but I have no idea what will make it over there and what they may like.

We had a family member there that said magazines, local newspapers and beef Jerky. They also had a makeshift grill so he asked us to send a bunch of various spices. He said candy and grooming items were available to them where he was at but we still sent large “sam’s club sized” bags of m&m’s and skittles.
