Cordless Phone Recommendations?

We are in the market for a new cordless phone system, does anyone have a particular brand and model they think does a great job with the following parameters? (At the moment, we are only interested in landline phones, not VOIP)

• 
  []Cordless with Base that has answering machine
  []Ability to have 6 units
  []2 lines
  []Ability to put a call on hold without having to press 3-4 buttons (the model we most recently purchased, one has to press Menu, then scroll to HOLD and then press select)
  []Good clarity (currently, customers have complained they have a hard time hearing us due to background noise)
  []Caller ID that logs names and phones numbers with time stamp
  []Ability to intercom to different phone units
  []No more than $400

i like our at&t Synj system but it may be over kill for you. we have 4 lines

VTech CM18445 and CM18045 might be good for you.
