Fake Cheese

I have read a few posts on the forum, regarding FAKE CHEESE. So, here is the question,if it is not real cheese, what are they useing as a substitute,& how do they apply this so called fake cheese. :?:

one thing is a soy based product, for vegetarian/vegan types. That, you cut it up however you want and put it on the pie.
