Help! Melted plastic lid on stones.

Hey there. So one of my employees accidentally put a plastic lid in the pizza oven, and it melted to the stone. (Stupid, I know) Any idea how we might clean it other than scraping and leaving the oven on overnight?

The stones are six months old on a blodgett 1000.

So very sad.

Thank you!

That’s a new one for me too. Dare I ask how???
The only thing that comes to mind is to heat the deck just enough to soften the plastic, maybe add a hand full of corn meal to help bind it, then scrape and wire brush to get as much out of the stone as possible then burn off any remainder as you have already mentioned doing. Or, you might even try using a propane torch to burn it off (it might do a better job), wire brush periodically as you do this until you’re comfortable that you have burned off most of the plastic, follow this by leaving the oven set at a temperature above your highest baking temperature, wire brush again and you should be good to go. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion?
