Sales are down by about 10% but profits are up by about 5%.

I trimmed the labor costs (paying fewer people not by choice) and introduced a delivery fee.

Sales have been wonderful. Providing great service. Watching Food/Labor costs. Have not raised prices and remain the best priced store in town.

RobT - where on Long Island are you from? I’ve got some Aunts/Uncles/family in Syosset and always dream of eating the great NY pizza! Have you ever been by a pizza shop called Mario’s? I think it’s right off Jericho Tnpke there in Syosset…I remember that was my favorite when I used to visit as a teenager back in the day…any thoughts? Cheers to your continued success!

The economy is hurting everyone. Most of the restaurants I know about are down 5-15%. This is actually a great time to spend some money on marketing if you have the money to spend, as the cost of marketing has also gone down.

If you are in a good position with money in the bank, its a good idea to spend it now on marketing to get an edge on your competition. If you are hurting, hang tough and only cut in the right places. Never on quality of ingredients. Never on cutting hours of your top employees.

November was actually up over 14% for us, and that was with a worse distribution of days over 2007 (5 Sat and 5 Sun in 2008, vs 5 Thur and 5 Fri in 2007.)

We’ve been on a six month relentless marketing blitz, heavily focused on the fact that you can still eat out here for about $25.00 for a family of 4-5.

yea we are a franchise and we have good ingredients and were not allowed to change that.

im just waiting for spring!! so far i have spent 5k on marketing in 3 months

It really matters on location, for me casinos cut alot f jobs in November, so that hurt me. The ecomony is hurting alot of restaurants in my area. I’ve had to cut labor & shop my food better. In te long run the ones that make it will have great shops, better quality, and better custmer service.What
