I currently buy close to 400k per year from my various food suppliers. How do I go about receiving rebates for the products that I use the most of? Pepperoni, Cheese, Tomato products, etc.? Thru my food reps, or thru the company directly?
Talk directly to the manufacturers or to the brokers representing the manufacturers. Our franchise has agreements with the manufacturers for nearly all of our key ingredients that set a price FOB the manufacturers warehouse which allows us to bring it in to any distributor and know the cost with the agreed upon distributor markup.
If your distributor holds food shows these can be opportunities for short term rebates but the best bet is directly with manufacturers.
