Mixers and OSHA requirements

Looking at a used mixer, guy selling it said he got it from a hospital and they needed the guard for OSHA requirements… I hadn’t even considered that some used equipment may no longer meet OSHA requirements. I’m going to call them tomorrow, but does anyone know anything about this?

To the best of my knowledge new mixers are required to be built with bowl guards but older models can be used without them.
