POS went down yesterday

anyone else go down?

apparently Webroot shit the bed yesterday with an update and there were issues all over the world. my pos company had 96 restaurants down. A customer told me her dog walking software went down.

Luckily it was a slow Monday and my phone staff had been trained on the old school paper tickets. We handled it just fine. But they were happy to see the pos up and running again later that day.

There was a AV software package that incorrectly was flagging system files as malware this weekend. Huge deal in the IT arena, as it was stopping windows from booting. The AV software maker made a update that could be applied manually to get the problem resolved, but it caused ALOT of issues. I am guessing that is what happened to them.
