Question about Blodgett 961 oven

Just purchased a used Blodgett 961 double deck oven, Ovens pilot light will light, but will not start the burner, I called the guy I purchased them from and tol me to take a torch and heat up the thermo, and it will start, anyone ever hear this… All the guts were changed a year ago he says… Do you think I have air in the gas lines…

It’s possible that either your thermopile is bad, or maybe is too far away from the pilot light to heat up properly on its own. (Could have gotten jostled in transit?..) Even a small distance gap between the thermopile and the pilot flame can be the difference.
