Show me your counters!

I need to figure out what I want to do for my counter facing and countertop! One day I want brick facing with a wood top…next day I want vertical wood planks with a fake granite top…next day it’s horizontal wood planks with a solid grey top. Help! I need to see some pics!

How about a rustic wood look for the front? This is available at Home Depot for $1.99 square foot … it’s tile, but you can stll apply it to the front of the counter. I’ve seen it in person, and it’s incredibly good looking and looks like weathered barn siding. The original owner did this, it is easy to maintain the only problem i have with it is ball point pens tend to not like to write on CC paper. It is Corian?, Had Home Depot install it.

Check with your local health dept. In some places, depending on your layout they may still consider that counter a food surface and not allow wood. I would stick with surfaces that are easy to clean. Same with the front… easy to clean is important.

The original owners of my property went nuts with buying very expensive things here, so most of my work surfaces on the pizza line are real granite, and they are an absolute dream to work on, smooth, durable, easy to clean and stretching dough on them is a breeze

we put in a Formica counter-top laminate, then we got a special type of clear office chair runner to put on top so the menu is underneath, or specials, and it keeps our counter clutter free. I keep a gel pen or uni-ball 207 pens for signing the credit slips, and have no trouble. I got rid of ball point pens on my counter because its the chemicals on that paper make it too slick which the balls on conventional pens can’t grab to work.

the siding on the counter is tongue and groove flat panel trim that we stained/sealed. Since we had to pay for it, we kept our costs as slow as possible and tried to keep things simple as possible.

i thought that was a joke, but after looking closer on the menu board now I gotta know about the carwash! That would be some sort of combo…order and your pizza is ready by the time you come out of the tunnel? what a time to be alive huh?

HAHA! I own a car wash too. It is next to my pizzeria. We have a drive thru at our pizzeria and we have a car wash POS printer that generates codes for customers that purchase a car wash. They input the code and get a car wash! You wouldn’t believe the marketing capabilities that opens up!!!

It’s not what we had in mind, but it’s the"best" we could do with our budget. The only thing we really did to the space was the stainless steel countertops, the Red and white tile was already there.

Here you can buy a sheet 4 X 10 of polished stainless steel 26 gauge for 220.00. We measured the counter tops and took the sheet to a sheet metal guy. Charged us 20.00 to cut and bend the corners down.

Cleaning them is very easy, although they do show fingerprints. A simple wipe down with a cloth gets them clean.

Preston, interesting swing door you have there with nothing above it. Was it like that when you moved in or did you do that ?

We installed 13 x 13 ceramic tile diagonal on the front and Granite counter top. Glass display was fabricated up in NY and shipped to PA.
