I have been using 2-color thermal printers for years now, Us being able to have important info printed in bright red has reduced several mistakes commonly made on the line before having 2-color. And having the customers order number in bright red on their receipt has made it easier too
The paper mills have stopped producing 2-color thermal paper, and I cannot find any old stock anywhere.
An Impact printer works okay for the first 2-3 dozen tickets, but the ribbons fade so quickly that tickets become difficult to read, and mistakes start happening more often with that.
My POS software has drivers for the SRP-500, it is on their preferred hardware list, but I am looking for real world experience with them, especially on ink usage, jamming, ease of use, etc etc etc
