How much $ can a owner earn?

I agree that opening with a partner is a bad idea. Opening with two partners and expecting to make more than what a driver would make is ludicrous.

How much $ can a owner earn?

Now I have never opened a place so maybe I have no clue. But I think in todays world, the absolute minum you would need is probably $40,000. And that is if you find a place that was already a restraunt and did not need much work done if any at all.

donate 10% of sales to Haiti ???

pizza2007: So are you saying he should make a personal donation and have it remain anonymous?

donate 10% of sales to Haiti ???

As for the question as to wether or not 10% is fair, maybe upping the percentage donated to 20% or even 50% would be appropriate. If the key is to not come off as making a profit off of the Haitians I would think that donating 20% to 50% would solve that problem. Or maybe advertise it after the...

donate 10% of sales to Haiti ???

pizza2007: Maybe there is a better way to go about it, I don’t know. But do you think the people of Haiti would care if someone made some profit off of it? Which by the way is not guaranteed that profit will be made.

    salary question?

BPLive: Would love 4 weeks paid vacation, but who runs the shop when I am gone? You are right though, doesn’t seem fair to not have any OT at all and just keep the hourly wage the same while doubling the hours.

    salary question?

Big Joe still around? How is it working out for you? I am in a somewhat similar situation. Owner is opening a second shop that I will fully manage about 80 hours a week. 10:30am -10:00pm every day. I will not be sharing any ownership though. Currently I work on average between 35-42 hours a...

    Credit Cards.

Really? I kind of just assumed that is how all vendor accounts worked. I mean if you owe money you have to pay it off.

    Credit Cards.

Bodegahwy, interesting that you actually lowered your limit from $70,000 to $30,000 when a lot of people are trying to raise theirs. But I guess $70,000 is quite excessive. Wouldn’t want those cards to end up in the wrong hands. And I imagine a $30,000 credit limit is plenty large enough to...

    Rough Week - Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

I am in California so no cold weather for us. But January has always been one of our slowest months, if not our slowest.

    Credit Cards.

This isn’t your usual credit card thread. No, I am interested in how many credit cards some of you different pizza operators have. And if you are willing to share, your credit score? Oh, and how important is a credit score if you want to open a business? Cash is king sometimes. But don’t...

Advice for somone looking to start up?

Funny to see this thread back on the main page again. Financially, I am a little better off than I was back in April. I’ve been saving money. But I haven’t been able to put away $1,000 a month like I had planned. This is due to a combination of not getting as many hours as I had been getting...

Satellite or cable TV in business?

I was wondering if any of you have Satellite or Cable service in your restaurants. I have heard that these companies like to charge business’s more. Even up to 200-300 dollars a month. We have a small place. We have room for dine in but don’t do a lot. No beer or anything. Just looking into...

Customer requests - gotta love 'em

Haha. I actually went out to Denny’s once with some friends and when one of them was asked how he would like his eggs he replied, “broken”.

    Interviews

My interviews are rather weak IMO. Do any of you have any tips on giving good interviews? One thing I have learned is to always interview at least two people. Guess that should have seemed obvious but in the past I have usually only bothered to bring in one person and 90% of the time just hire...

A few questions for the Masters.

Dragonborn: Wow! I think you would really be missing out on a lot of potential sells to people who only have enough money for a 10" or 12" pizza. And like someone else said. It would be a major pain to have to stagger your 18" pizzas. And again, most customers just see the word Large and then...

    Does anyone use MyFreePOS.com?

Well Averasell is on the front page of the website. The website says that this POS is only made for use on one computer. So I don’t think that would work well for us.

    advertising to current customers?

I am in the process of tracking the orders of houses that we have delivered too on an excel spreadsheet. We don’t have POS yet. What is the best way to get these customers to order again or order more often? Mailing out magnets? Magnets with calenders? Special coupon offers for returning...
