The count down has begun...time for some excellent advice

Re: The count down has begun…time for some excellent advic canukfanlady: Take your time and hire good quality employees. There are some articles about hiring, I’d read all of them. We tend to hire what we get and don’t actually sit down and do thorough interviews and the such. I wish I did!

    washing roamine lettuce

Patriot'sPizza: The processed romaine is great. It is 95% easier then buying a case of dirty lettuce. It also settles my blood pressure, knowing that an employee can’t screw it up 🙂 If unhandled lettuce, isn’t washed properly, somebody could get a mouthful of dirt or who knows what… I’v seen...

Marketing to Customers Outside your Store's Delivery Zone

Re: Marketing to Customers Outside your Store’s Delivery Zon GT: Well I would continue advertising around my store as well… If I spend money to market to customers outside my delivery area and I get enough of a return to pay for the associated costs then I’m not loosing any money by marketing...

Marketing to Customers Outside your Store's Delivery Zone

Re: Marketing to Customers Outside your Store’s Delivery Zon j_r0kk: Thats funny you should say that. We were out doorhanging last week and stumbled upon a Papa Johns Cup stuffed with the same pieces you listed. The coupons were riduculous tho. 2 Mediums for 8.99. 1 Large for $5. I didn’t...

Marketing to Customers Outside your Store's Delivery Zone

Has anybody tried direct mail to areas outside of their delivery zone, to draw in carry-out or dine-in traffic for their restaurant and to what success did it work if you have and what did you mail to them to get them to come to your store? I really need more dine-in traffic at our store but I...

    Black Book POSTCARD

Also I am going to agree with the poster above that the BB letter is just that… Its just a sales letter that anybody experienced in copywriting can write. Its no big secret amongst those who know how to put salesmanship in print 🙂 However a majority of the time independant pizza shop owners...

    Black Book POSTCARD

If you’ve been around for awhile and alot of people have had a chance to try your pizza already and have determined that they dont like your pizza or service your not going to get a very good return on your direct mail either. Now if your brand spanking new or recently opened within a year or...

The count down has begun...time for some excellent advice

Re: The count down has begun…time for some excellent advic Hire an accountant or a payroll service to do your payroll. The service fee they will charge you will seem like pennies when you “forget” to submit your tax returns, or make your federal deposits. Well your in Canada… Not sure how it...

    Alcohol Liability Insurance

How much is everyone paying for their Alcohol Liability insurance? My business + alcohol policy combined is $585 monthly. This seems really high to me and I’m going to go shopping but would like to see what others are paying for this type of insurance! Thanks

    Black Book POSTCARD

Believe it or not… Sometimes the mail carriers will “accidently” loose your mail. Or your mailhouse that you thought was astonishing, might “accidently” leave out a route and of course charge you as they did the whole mailing. Or they will send out one route and not send the others for 2 weeks...

    j_r0kk and others mailing cost

Try to find a local mailhouse in your area. A mailhouse is basiclly just people that specialize in doing bulk mailings. Alot of printers work in cunjunction with mail houses, so ask your local printer who they can recommend for bulk mailings. Its ok to use an out of state mailhouse, if somebody...

    Pizza Pizzazz is fixed

pizzaguy: I bet they bribe them with great tasting pizza 🙂 But on another note. I’v competed… Its not fixed. It just so happens these guys compete every year and have more then 1 person from their store in the competition, making their odds better. And they’ve got great pizza. I’v tried most...

    Olives/Invoice Audit

Another interesting item on my invoice… clear plastic 2 oz portion cups… They went up $10/case over the past year… from 39.99 to 49.89. Anybody else purchasing a similiar product that wishes to share their price? They are packed 10/250 ct. Man this hurts… Lesson to all… Spreadsheet your...

    Olives/Invoice Audit

ADpizzaguy: Well. I drained out all the juice and weighed just the olives. I came up with 68.2 ounces of actual usable product out of the #10 can. So with this calculation, I’m paying $1.63/LB. Wow… 🙂

    Olives/Invoice Audit

I’m in the process of doing an invoice audit. Anyways, I wanted to see what everybody is paying for a case of black olives. We are using Ron Son and are paying roughly $40/case for 6 #10 cans. Its awfully high and I’v been watching it for awhile, since we used to pay $28/cs… I have also...

    Moving In Next To Competition

lol… I don’t know why our salad sales are so high. They aren’t anything spectacular. Just your basics… House Salads, BLT Salad, Chef, and Greek. We also don’t upsell our salads, nor offer discounts or coupons on them. Our sub sales can sometimes be off the wall also and yet again they are...
