Pizza shop owners, help me with this. I am curious of what percentage of your gross sales is spent on advertising? My accountant says 2 -3 % , Im currently looking to buy a shop that is spending about 10%. Looking for better ways to grow this business. Any input would be strongly appreciated.

I budget for 4% this includes the phone book and my sign rental for the shopping plaza I am in.

It’s in our franchise agreement they we must do 7%. We have 3% taken out of our bank account every month that goes to pay for our doorhangers, toppers, menu board items, window signs and stickers. The remaining 4% is to be spent on labor for doorhanging, sign waving, telephone book ads and any other local store marketing.
