Another pizzeria has just opened. Ask 4 rent reduction???

Our landlord allowed another pizzeria to open at the opposite end of the plaza! Am I crazy for demanding a serious reduction in our rent? If they refuse, can and more importantly should I throw a fit about the pot holes, the non-operational security lights, or the brown grass…isn’t this why we pay CAM??? HELP!

I think you are in the wrong forum (this is the delivery driver forum), but I would be furious if the landlord allowed another pizzeria, depending of course how large the shopping plaza is.

Depends. What does your lease say? You should have put in a clause for that.

Why are you trying to cause a stink now after its already open?

I’m surprised the town officials allowed them to open in the same plaza…

Huh? Town officials have nothing to say about this. Government entitites do not regulate competition in the pizza business. If there is nothing in the lease on the subject, that is the end of the discussion.
