copyrighting/registering a name of an item?

Hey guys,

Has anyone gone about copyrighting or registering the name of a pizza or an item on their menu?

It’s not that much different from registering your business name as a trademark.

Go to the USPTO website and just follow the instructions. Do a basic search on the website for “Papa Roni’” as an example of a pizza name which has been trademarked by Papa Murphy’s. (I know of this particular one because there was a potential likelihood of confusion with my tradename.)

The process can be done without the use of an attorney and will take 9-12 months if everything goes well.
