Jury Duty

I just got “notice to appear” to jury duty. As if I don’t have enough to deal with right now! I am a stay-at-home dad during the day, when my wife comes home from work, I go to the shop. While my daughter is napping or playing I use that time to work in my office or make phone calls. There is no way I am going to be able to do Jury Duty, Anyone know how I can get out of it.

If it works like it does here, you call the night before to see if you need to appear. (Neither my wife or I ever have had to despite the notices). Most juror calls do not result in jury duty.

If you are called in, you plead hardship based on the stuff in yoour post.

On our forms there is a box you check if you are responsible for the care of another individual.

I believe you should make the time to do your duty.

People complain about our justice system, yet are always trying to get out of jury duty. Doesn’t make much sense to me. No wonder juries are getting worse and worse…
