Seems franchise identity has some drawbacks as well as some benefits. You think those PJ’s in Cleveland were excited to see that t-shirt on National Television? I’d think about suing someone somewhere over that fiasco.
Alternatively, it could have been a planned PR stunt (T-shirt and promotion). Their name is certainly all over the sports world and the pizza world now.
This is fantastic for PJ stores…Sure in the short term your food costs go all to heck…But over the long run, as a % of annual sales this blunder and resulting promotion will have a good return…Publicity like that is priceless…And I think eventually the positives will outweigh the negatives…
